1.00mm thick butyl synthetic rubber pond liner has been used in the UK for over 30 years. Butyl is a genuinely high quality pond liner due to it’s hardiness, flexibility and elasticity.
Butyl pond liner 1mm is unaffected by extremes in weather conditions and temperatures. Butyl is considered to be one of the best pond liners on the market. Butyl pond liner 1mm can be used for all types and sizes of pond installations including lakes and reservoirs as well as being fabricated into a box-welded or tailored-to-fit pond liner.
Butyl is much more heavy duty than PVC pond liner and is far less likely to get punctured. Butyl, in the unlikely event that it does get damaged, can be repaired with one of our pond liner repair products.

Butyl pond liners are used to line landscaped garden ponds, wildlife ponds, lakes, reservoirs and formal ponds.
Butyl is available in two thicknesses – 0.75mm and 1.0mm. The 0.75mm is used for most flat sheet lined pond designs whereas the 1.0mm thickness is ideal for more demanding box-welded pond designs. A protective underlay liner is recommended for all installations.
Why does Butyl cost more than Epalyn rubber liners?
The raw materials used in the manufacture of butyl rubber have significantly increased in cost over the past few years. Epalyn (EPDM) pond liners has proven to be the best alternative to butyl.
